MOBILITY
The bike is an ideal alternative to travel to the World Championships easily, so you can get right up close to the route. Therefore, there will be secure bike parking for those who want to come to the World Championship races by bike and park their bike safely. We advise everyone to use public transport during the World Championships. There are currently no special passes for those who want to come to the World Championship races by public transport. During the weekend, the NMBS is offering a 50% discount on the standard rate with a weekend ticket.
During the World Cycling Championships, it will be difficult to move around easily by car. In addition, only a limited number of parking spaces will be available. We therefore recommend that you come by public transport. Every train station has a car park where you can leave your car. Parking spaces around the course are limited and are some distance away.
There will be a parking ban along the entire route, so it is not possible to park your vehicle directly nearby. You can easily reach the World Championships route by public transport.
During the World Championships you will have to allow for a certain amount of disruption due to crowds and diversions. Therefore, it is advisable to postpone travel by car as much as possible and use public transport where possible. If you do need to use the car, you should use Waze to keep up with the most recent traffic situation.

The World Championships are organised in several cities, where the measures for low-emission zones are always different. We recommend that you check beforehand whether your vehicle is allowed to enter the cities and whether you need to apply for a day pass. It is possible to visit the World Championship races with a motorhome. The various campsites are listed on our mobility page. It is best to reserve a space for most campsites.
Together with Inter vzw, we are working hard to provide accessible World Cycling Championships. So there are various facilities to make the World Championships a party for everyone. We are providing accessible start and finish locations in Knokke-Heist, Bruges, Antwerp and Leuven. With attention to public transport, reserved parking spaces nearby, elevated platforms, Flemish Sign Language interpreters, screens, adapted sanitary facilities and Inter volunteers who will offer assistance to visitors with a disability. COURSE
In every host city there will be fan zones where toilets are provided. In addition, the same facilities will also be available at the start and finish points.

Applications for the operation of a food or drink stall along the route must have already been submitted to the city or municipality in question. Anyone who has not yet done so can no longer operate a food or drink stall.
Both the fan zones and the areas adjacent to the route are free of charge. For access to the VIP areas, you must purchase an entrance ticket in advance. On our website you will find an overview of the arrangements during time trials and during road races.
During World Championships week, you can take part in an official World Championship Cyclo and/or family tour from any start and finish point, partly over the official World Championship course. More information and tickets can be found on our website. At other times, the route is not accessible.

ACCOMMODATION
No specific hotels are provided for visitors during the World Championships. So you are responsible for your own accommodation. On our website you will find a few recommendations for host city.
SIDE-EVENTS
As organiser, in addition to the World Championship races, we plan a preliminary stage to promote the event and provide on-site entertainment. You can always find information about this on the website. We always follow the most recent coronavirus measures and COVID-19 protocols.

As organiser, in addition to the World Championship races, we plan a preliminary stage to promote the event and provide on-site entertainment. One of these fringe events is a paracycling race, on Sunday 19 September 2021. You will find more information in this newsflash.
GENERAL INFORMATION
There will be no ban on backpacks in the fan zones. So you can take a backpack with you. Nor are checks planned.

RESIDENTS
If you need urgent medical help and live along the route, call 112 or use the 112 app. In other words, follow the normal procedure. Emergency services have been informed by security services and local authorities of the procedures to follow in case of emergency.
For visitors to the World Championships, a first aid post is provided in every official fan zone, not in the other zones. For urgent medical assistance, contact the emergency services by calling 112 or via the 112 app.
During the World Championship period there will be restrictions on the accessibility of certain locations on the course. It is therefore advisable to travel by public transport or bike as much as possible, in order to minimise the impact of the restrictions. Everything remains accessible on foot or by bike.
Leuven
Almost all highlights in Leuven can be visited during the world championships: stadhuis, Museum M Leuven, Sint-Pieterskerk, Begijnhof, brouwerij Stella Artois, abdij van park. The university library is closed.
